Quick verdict
Worth installing if you have people to play with; the arguments during meetings are the whole point. Solo players relying on random lobbies may find it hit or miss.
Best for Groups of friends who want a quick, free bluffing game they can play together across phones, PCs and consoles

Among Us review
Among Us is a multiplayer game for 4 to 15 players. Most players are crewmates who run around a map finishing small tasks, while one or more secret impostors sabotage the ship and eliminate people. When a body is found or someone calls a meeting, everyone argues and votes on who to throw out. It suits friend groups, streamers and anyone who enjoys bluffing and accusations more than reflexes.
Rounds are short, so it is easy to play a few in a spare half hour. The tasks are simple minigames; the real game happens in the meetings, which can be loud and funny with friends or flat with strangers who rarely talk. Hosts can change the number of impostors, task counts, vision range and optional roles such as Scientist, Engineer, Guardian Angel and Shapeshifter, which keeps repeat sessions from feeling identical. Cross-play means friends on PC, console and phones can share a lobby.
Why we picked it: It remains one of the easiest ways to get a group laughing and lying to each other, and the base game costs nothing on mobile.
Watch out for: Public lobbies can be uneven, with quitters and quiet players, and the fun depends heavily on who you play with.

What could be better

- Cosmetics and extras are sold through in-app purchases
- Small phone screens make some tasks and chat fiddly
Questions about Among Us
Is Among Us free on phones?
Yes, the mobile versions are free to download. In-app purchases are mainly for cosmetic items and similar extras rather than core gameplay.
Can I play with friends on other devices?
Yes. Cross-platform play lets mobile, PC and console players join the same lobby.
How many players do I need?
A game supports 4 to 15 players. You can join public lobbies online or create a private one for your group.
Can I play offline?
Not really. Online play needs an internet connection, and the Android listing also mentions play over local WiFi with nearby players. A practice mode lets you explore maps alone, but it is not a full game.
Is it suitable for kids?
It is rated 9+ on the App Store and Everyone 10+ on Google Play. Online chat with strangers is the main thing parents may want to manage.
From the developer: how Among Us describes itself
A game of teamwork and betrayal ...in space! Play online with 4-15 players as you attempt to prep your spaceship for departure, but beware as one or more random players among the Crew are Impostors bent on killing everyone.
MASTER YOUR SOCIAL DEDUCTION SKILLS. Crewmates win by completing all tasks or discovering and voting the Impostors off the ship. The Impostor can use sabotage to cause chaos, making for easier kills and better alibis. Optional roles create a whole new level of gameplay. Try out the Scientist, Engineer, Guardian Angel, or Shapeshifter to create chaos! Think you’re a master of deception? Only one way to find out!
CUSTOMIZE YOUR GAME. Choose how you want to play! Change the number of Impostors, roles, tasks, player visibility, and more. Play in style as you change your Crewmates’ color, visor, nameplate, outfit, and hat. More customization options are planned to be continually added in.
PLAY WITH ANYONE. Cross-platform play is supported. Play with friends (or enemies?) between PC, mobile, or console!
