Quick verdict
Worth installing if you like discovering new voices and don't mind sifting through uneven quality. Heavy readers may find the ads and paid chapters push them toward spending money.
Best for Readers who enjoy serialized, community-written fiction and writers looking for an audience

Wattpad review
Wattpad is a free platform for reading and posting original fiction, usually released chapter by chapter. It covers romance, fantasy, sci-fi, mystery, young adult and a large amount of fanfiction, in more than 25 languages. It suits readers who like discovering new writers, and writers who want an audience and feedback before they have a publisher. A few hits, such as After and The Kissing Booth, were adapted into films and books.
Day to day, you browse or search by tag, add stories to your library and follow along as authors post new parts. You can comment on individual paragraphs, which makes reading feel social, and build reading lists to share. Writers can draft and publish from the app. Expect ads in the free version, and some stories are behind a paywall that uses coins.
Why we picked it: It hosts a huge, active catalogue of serialized fiction with direct reader-writer interaction that few reading apps match.
Watch out for: Quality varies a lot because anyone can publish. Google Play reviews are noticeably lower than App Store ones, with frequent complaints about ads and paid content.
