Coinbase is the mobile app for one of the best-known US crypto exchanges. You can buy, sell and hold Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and a long list of other coins. You can also send crypto to other people and stake some assets for rewards. Recent versions have turned it into a broader trading app, with commission-free stocks and fractional shares, prediction markets on real-world events, and derivatives for going long or short. It suits newcomers making a first crypto purchase as well as regular traders who want one portfolio view.
Day to day, the standard view shows your balances, price charts and a clear buy and sell flow. A separate advanced mode adds order books and fuller charting tools. Setup takes a while, since you need to verify your identity and link a payment method. After that, buying and checking prices is quick. Coinbase One is an optional subscription that removes trading fees and adds perks such as boosted staking rewards.
