QuickBooks Workforce review
QuickBooks Workforce is Intuit's companion app for employees and managers at businesses that already run QuickBooks Payroll or QuickBooks Time (the service formerly called TSheets). Workers use it to clock in and out, request time off and pull up pay stubs and W-2s. Admins use it to approve timesheets, build schedules and see who is on the clock. It is not a standalone tool. What you can do depends on which QuickBooks products your employer pays for.
Day to day it is mostly a big clock-in button plus a timesheet view. Clocking in works without a signal and syncs later, which helps on job sites. You can switch jobs or log breaks in a couple of taps, and GPS tracking records where time was logged. Managers get alerts when someone misses a scheduled shift or is getting close to overtime. Geofence reminders and the project activity feed are limited to the higher QuickBooks Time Elite tier.
Why we picked it: For teams already on QuickBooks, it puts hours, schedules and pay info in one well-rated app that feeds straight into payroll.
Watch out for: It does nothing without an employer's QuickBooks subscription, and GPS location tracking may not suit every worker.

Is QuickBooks Workforce free?
The download is free, but it only works if your employer subscribes to QuickBooks Payroll, QuickBooks Time or both. Employees usually do not pay anything themselves.
Can I use it without internet access?
Yes, you can clock in and out without Wi-Fi or a cell signal. Your time entries sync when you reconnect.
Does it track my location?
It can. Businesses using QuickBooks Time can turn on GPS-based time tracking, and Elite plans add geofence reminders around job sites. Ask your employer how location data is used.
Which devices does it run on?
It is available on iPhone, and Intuit also offers QuickBooks Workforce on Android.
Can I use it if my company uses a different payroll provider?
No. It is built only for QuickBooks Payroll and QuickBooks Time. Other providers such as Gusto or ADP have their own employee apps.
